This is the color scheme for the house (with the exception of the kid's rooms) navy blue, peonies pink, silver, and cream. I bought a blouse in early spring with these colors and immediately thought, this is the color palette I want in the new house. The blue wallpaper I am thinking to use as an accent in our master bedroom and the sparkly silver and cream one I am considering for an accent wall that will be seen from the entry and the wine room.

Love me some pretty wallpaper
As promised the progress on the house has been uneventful as far as I am concerned. We had the sprinkler system installed and all the electrical is being run throughout the house. All very practical and necessary. Yada, yada, yada. In much more exciting news, I received some wallpaper samples tonight. About a week ago I felt it absolutely necessary to decide on the wallpaper for a few accent walls. A bit premature? Maybe. But I was on a mission. I stayed up well past my bedtime searching thousands of wallpaper images online. I was pleasantly surprised this evening to see the samples I had decided on, since by about the 500th image they all started to look the same and I had totally forgotten my purpose in my search.

We were out of town for a few days to Portland and when we came back I couldn't wait to see the progress the guys have made in the few days we were gone. Once again, I am blown away by how fast they work. We now have can lights in every room and the casings installed for all of the outlets and light switches. So this week will be all about electrical, not very glamorous or exciting but there ya go. They did also place all of the drywall in each room, surely this means they will be installing that soon. I hope. Once that happens, we will have some exciting meetings with our cabinet guy, painter, and closet gal.

Landscape architect meeting #1
Over the weekend we met with our first landscape architect. We spent an hour with him going over all of the possibilities with our new backyard. I can envision every room in the house, exactly how I want it to look but I didn't have an image in my head about the backyard until that meeting. Once we decide which company to go with, they will create a design incorporating all the fun things we want. After this first meeting, our long wish list of backyard elements is seeming more and more like a reality. When we got home I decided to lay out and the kids wanted to do some water play in the backyard. I had to laugh as I watched them, content as could be, filling up Tupperware bowls with the hose and dumping them over each other. So maybe we forget the pool, the hillside slide, the cascading water features, and the jacuzzi and just invest in a good hose. That way there is more money for my outdoor pizza oven.

Windows!
Good news, we have windows! Bad news, my front yard is a disaster area. But, I suppose they do need some way to connect all of our plumbing and electrical with the appropriate sources so the huge trenches in our yard are a good thing. Our little community is made up of 18 homes, they divided them among 2 phases. Phase 1 peeps should be moving in the end of this month. Lucky duckies. Within each phase, they work progressively on each house as they complete a step. And wouldn't it be my luck that they are doing our house dead last. Sigh. The good news is, I get to see what they are doing to the other houses and can anticipate what's coming soon on ours. It looks like the next week or so will be a lot of electrical work. Of course, electrical is very important (obviously) but completely uneventful in my book. Really excited to see some drywall installation, hopefully soon!

Up next, window installation
Drove up to the house this afternoon to find our garage filled all sorts of fun things. Windows, hooray! Air conditioning/ heating duct thingies, yahoo! Empty Gatorade bottles, huh? Jaime, our project manager (and my new best friend) told me we should have the windows installed this week. So exciting!
