Master bathroom tour, part 1

Designing the master bathroom probably caused me the most amount of stress. I knew I wanted to use Calacatta marble, so that part was simple. The difficult part was choosing the right marble pieces for the floor, the shower, and the countertops so that they would compliment each other. For the countertops I took a trip to a marble yard and found this beautiful slab of polished "Calacatta Oro." I had them fabricate it with a square ogee edge to add some nice detail and finished it off with a thick border in the same marble.

I have had a passion for interior design and home decor since I was a young girl. As a sixth grader my parents gave me a crystal bud vase as a graduation present. It was the perfect gift for me and I cherished it. I loved when that vase had a budding flower in it and would spend hours figuring out the perfect spot for my vase in my bedroom. I am now fortunate enough to have an entire home to play with each day but my goal is the same it was when I was a child, to create beauty in my surroundings. Life can be complicated, difficult, and overwhelming but coming home to pretty flowers, a freshly scented candle, and perhaps even a glass of champagne can help bring peace back into your world.
