On our way back from a beautiful day in Newport we stopped in on the lot to see the progress.  It is so exciting to go and see how much they have done in just a few short days!  They added the siding to the trenching to prep for laying the foundation and have started placing plumbing thingy-ma-bobbers throughout.  And yes, I'm certain that is the most precise and technical way to describe exactly what they've done.  It was even more clear today with the siding up where the house will be on the lot and where each room will be.  Well, at least the downstairs rooms.

Trenching… Check!

We visited the lot today, with our pups in tow, to find the trenching had been completed.  These guys don't mess around and I LOVE IT!  This is a day I've been very excited for because it gives us a little better idea of where the house will be situated on the lot.  We were able to visualize the size of the backyard and start planning where we wanted to place things.  We have some lofty ideas.  Granted, landscape developers we are NOT so who knows what is actually possible.  One thing for sure, the dogs are going to get an upgraded dog run, which our energetic Charlie boy will be so happy about.  Chloe on the other hand is no doubt thinking, "Humph, forget the dog run, will there be a window seat where I can leisurely spend my days?"

Madelyn and I are standing on what will be the driveway, you can see the trenching behind us and that whole hill to our backs is part of our property.  I'm seeing a Geting hillside winery in our future.

It's official. Finally!

Good things really do come to those who wait.  It was so hard for us to pass up taking one of the lots in the first phase because we have been so excited for this housing possibility.  But, wait we did and over the weekend we secured lot 18, the one we've wanted since we first set eyes on this project almost a year ago.  We completed the purchase agreement on Sunday.   Signing, initialling, and signing some more until we were the official owners of lot 18.  EEEEK!   I went by the lot today, they have markers in place, preparing to begin trenching soon.  Check me out, I already know the lingo!  I am sure I am going to learn more than I've ever wanted to about construction, electrical, plumbing and landscaping but bring it on baby!  The Geetings are building their dream house!

Selfie of me and our dirt.  More exciting pics to come, promise!
