Marble Powder Room

Designing the powder room was a lot of fun. I had a great inspiration photo from Houzz that helped guide me. Once I found this calcatta oro hexagonal pattern I knew it was just what I wanted. I finished the look off with a thick border and matching baseboards. The stark contrast between the white marble and dark hardwood floors is just what I wanted. Hopefully our guests will enjoy it, because this room is strictly off limits to those who reside in the house. Anyone who lives with boys will understand my reasoning. To be fair to our guys, Madelyn and I just stay out as well.

I have had a passion for interior design and home decor since I was a young girl. As a sixth grader my parents gave me a crystal bud vase as a graduation present. It was the perfect gift for me and I cherished it. I loved when that vase had a budding flower in it and would spend hours figuring out the perfect spot for my vase in my bedroom. I am now fortunate enough to have an entire home to play with each day but my goal is the same it was when I was a child, to create beauty in my surroundings. Life can be complicated, difficult, and overwhelming but coming home to pretty flowers, a freshly scented candle, and perhaps even a glass of champagne can help bring peace back into your world.
